It's been quite an eventful summer for Manchester United, both at home and abroad.

Erik ten Hag has agreed to a contract extension, the first signing of the Sir Jim Ratcliffe era has been confirmed, and after Monday's defeat by Rosenborg, the build-up to the new season is officially underway.

But in the midst of all that, a decent chunk of United's first-team stars have been away on international duty, either at the Euros or at the Copa America. With the dust now settled on both tournaments, we thought we'd create a power ranking for said players based on how well they performed for their countries. Let's get into it!

United missed him this year, but Argentina certainly didn't. The little defender shone alongside Cristian Romero at the back for Lionel Scaloni's side as Lionel Messi and Co. sealed their second-successive Copa America title - and their third major tournament win on the bounce.

Lisandro Martinez was a rock at the back and started every game except the dead rubber against Peru at the end of the group. He even pitched in with a goal, netting the opener in Argentina's quarter-final clash with Ecuador. If United can keep Martinez fit and healthy next season, they'll be in business.

Bruno Fernandes was a shining light in an otherwise gloomily underwhelming tournament for Portugal, which saw Cristiano Ronaldo steal the limelight for all the wrong reasons before a quarter-final exit at the hands of France.
