Martin Tyler shows true colours as he sets record straight on Man United 'bias'

Martin Tyler was the voice behind some of the Premier League's most iconic moments during his 33-year tenure as a Sky Sports commentator. But he has often been accused of showing overt joy whenever Manchester United performed well, leading to speculation that he was a fan of the Old Trafford side.

However, during an appearance on AwayDays' shirt shopping series, Tyler sought to dispel these rumours and has passionately refuted claims of bias towards United by citing his history with Woking FC, affirming they're his one and only team since childhood: "I can't wear any shirts from [English] clubs because I'll be accused of being biased - that's my shirt there, Woking.

"That's my club and people don't believe it! Oh, you must have a Premier League club'. Why? It's been a great advantage me not to have one because - I could out them - all commentators that you have heard of all have Premier League clubs and they have to deal with the issues that come with commentating on a team that you do care about."
