Martin Odegaard looks ahead to Tottenham vs Arsenal as race for top four goes down to the wire

Martin Odegaard believes he and his Arsenal team-mates are ready to step up and deliver on their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League this season. The Gunners are currently fourth in the Premier League table, having swept aside relegation-threatened Leeds United 2-1 at the Emirates on Sunday.

Odegaard, who has stepped up to captain the team in recent weeks, has begun to come of age following his move from Real Madrid, firmly establishing himself in Mikel Arteta's plans.

With Spurs the next test to come later this week, Antonio Conte's side could close the gap on their North London rivals to just one point should they emerge victorious. But with the Norway international confident the Gunners have what it takes, fans could be in for some contest when the two teams face off for the final time this season.

Odegaard said: “I’ve played there a few games but I don’t feel like I’ve really played there. I really want to get into there and fight. That’s where the best teams want to be of course so that would be big for me and the club.

“Yeah, we have a young team but I think with the young players we have we have a lot of experience as well. We’ve been through a lot and we just enjoy playing football together and you can see that on the pitch.

"We enjoy it. I think it was a good win against Leeds, an important win. We know the situation we’re in so obviously very happy with the three points. Some parts of the game we have to do better and kill the game but that’s all that matters."
