Martin O'Neill accuses Rangers of taking on 'paranoia' as Celtic 'conspiracy theories' put to one side

Martin O'Neill says Rangers are taking on a sense of paranoia – and that his views on far-fetched theories are parked way in the past.

It's been a week of grumblings in Scottish football after the post-split Premiership fixtures managed to leave a whole host of clubs and fans irked. Ange Postecoglou is disappointed that his Celtic team need to play their first two fixtures away from Parkhead as they close in on the title, while there are no bottom six fixtures being broadcast by Sky Sports, alongside a host of teams playing away to the same opponent three times.

He doesn't think someone is out to get the side he guided to a UEFA Cup Final, but the former Celtic boss reckons Rangers are showing eyebrow-raising signs ahead of Sunday's Scottish Cup semi-final between the pair. Alfredo Morelos had a controversial goal ruled out in the recent 2-1 derby success for Postecoglou's side this month for a push on Alistair Johnston and when talking about the post-split fixtures, a coy nod appeared to be made to it. O'Neill said: "Celtic start off after the break with two away games, hmm, do you feel as if there is a conspiracy theory there?

"I left paranoia behind some time ago, it must be starting again! It was good to see from a Celtic viewpoint that Rangers are now taking it on after that disallowed goal.

"It's really great, something I never would have thought would happen. It is what it is, if you are going to win a league I don't think it matters what week it happens to be."
