Martin Boyle gets honest over Hibs future as he makes it crystal clear where his mind is at

Martin Boyle has admitted he is 100 per cent open to staying at Hibs - the club he LOVES.

But his full focus currently is on matters on the pitch for David Gray's men and any talk over his future is currently at the back of his mind - despite his contract having just months to run. The fans' favourite - who has scored 12 goals and provided eight assists in all competitions to date - has played a starring role as skipper in the current form of the capital club.

After a slow start to the season, the men from Leith now find themselves fifth in the Scottish Premiership table - and just four points off Aberdeen in third spot. It's been quite the run of form to haul themselves back in the top six and European picture. Boyle's mind is focussed on continuing this between now and the summer before then thinking about what comes next.

He explained: "I haven't [had discussions] no. I'm just fully focused on playing the best that I can for this club, always have been.

"We'll see where that is at the end of the season. Am I open to staying? Yeah, one hundred per cent.

"It's a club I love and is close to my heart. But it's way at the back of my mind. I'm concentrating on what I can do for the club at the moment. Whatever happens with that, happens."

Speaking previously about Boyle, boss Gray admitted: "Even your key players that are playing and playing well will attract interest from other clubs. So you need to always be on the front foot and be ready to react. I don't want to lose anyone. If somebody says, you're going to lose Martin Boyle, I wouldn't want that to happen.

“But it's also a business and everything that comes with that. So we need to be proactive and ready for anything that could come up.
