Marquis, Rudoni, failed Sunderland bid: All the latest AFC Wimbledon transfer news

The team will be hoping to bounce straight back by earning promotion from the fourth tier this season.

Training has begun ahead of the new campaign getting underway late next month.

That has seen a flurry of transfer activity kick off across the country and the four divisions.

Here are the latest updates and news surrounding Wimbledon’s transfer plans for this summer transfer window…

Wimbledon are keen on adding former Lincoln City player John Marquis to the squad this summer, as per London News Online.

A number of clubs have been linked with a move for the 30-year old, with Wimbledon hoping they can convince the forward to drop down from League One.

Marquis scored nine goals and earned four assists with the Imps last season as they finished 17th in the table.

However, he is now a free agent following the expiration of his contract at the end of last season.

Wimbledon midfielder Jack Rudoni has caught the attention of many Championship clubs this summer.

The 22-year old was a standout performer for the Dons last season, scoring 12 and assisting three goals for the team.

But now the likes of Bristol City and Blackpool are joining Sunderland and Huddersfield Town in their pursuit of the player.

It is becoming increasingly unlikely that Rudoni will remain with the League Two side for next season, as he looks to compete at a higher level.

In fact, the club have already rejected three offers for the player this summer, with Sunderland having attempted twice to sign Rudoni.

Huddersfield have also had an offer rejected by the club as they seek a transfer figure in the region of £1 million.

The player has shown he is too good to be competing in the fourth tier, so now a move to the Championship seems inevitable.
