Marlon Humphrey: Ravens defender suffers embarrassing moment attempting keepie ups

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey showed why he is better off sticking to the oval ball than the round ball during a meetup with members of the Arsenal team.

Marlon Humphrey has slowly developed into one of the best defenders in the game in recent years. Having been taken in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft by the Baltimore Ravens, it took a couple of years before he would be established as a mainstay in the team’s defence.

But he certainly has made all the waiting count in more recent years, emerging as an elite shutdown corner and making sure that the Ravens are among one of the better teams in the league and contending for silverware. During his time with the Ravens he’s racked up 276 combined tackles, 12 forced fumbles, and 9 interceptions and 2 touchdowns, all of which have seen him named to two Pro Bowls and named First-team All-Pro in the 2019 season.

So when it comes to the sport of American Football, there’s no doubting his pedigree. But when it comes to soccer, it is a whole different matter.

Arsenal are currently on their tour of the USA as they go through their preseason work ahead of the 2022-23 Premier League campaign. One of those games sees them take on fellow Premier League side Everton in The Charm City match at the Baltimore Ravens’ M&T Bank Stadium.

And as is usually the case when two sports side mix, it gives the athletes a chance to show what they can do in each other’s respective sports. In this case, Humphrey was invited to do a couple of keepy uppies with Arsenal player Rob Holding.

It started off OK, but then quickly went south for him after the first couple of goes, losing control of the ball so much that it ended up in the stands:
