Marina Granovskaia sent £41m Chelsea transfer ultimatum amid takeover and licence uncertainty

Marina Granovskaia has been told by Jorginho's agent Joao Santos that his client will 'listen' to other others on the table if Chelsea can't offer him a new contract.

Jorginho, 30, sees his current deal expire in 2023 and with only a year left on his contract, it's unsurprising to hear Santos issue a fresh warning to the Blues about the future of the former Napoli man.

The Italian has been a bit part player for much of this season, having to rotate in and out with Mateo Kovacic and N'Golo Kante, but he's still been given enough game time for him to be happy and content in west London during these rocky periods.

Chelsea are currently in the process of trying to bring in another owner, with the deadline for the bids set for 9pm tonight (Friday).

One of the first priorities of the new owners is likely to be a change to the license arrangement the club is a currently working under after the UK government imposed sanctions on current owner Roman Abramovich.

The current licence means Chelsea cannot offer contract renewals. With more pressing concerns elsewhere though, regarding the futures of Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger, Jorginho may have to wait and be patient whilst Granovskaia and co work their way through these choppy waters.

Santos has said that the first 'priority' will to renew his clients deal in the English capital but if this wasn't to happen due to the sanctioning issues or the club's decision itself, then the option of a Serie A return at the twilight stage of his career - possibly with Juventus - could appeal to the 30-year-old.
