Margate player-manager Ben Greenhalgh says what squad have done is one of hardest to do in football as 2-0 win over Isthmian South East leaders Three Bridges makes it three on spin

Ben Greenhalgh thinks what Margate have done in recent weeks is one of the toughest things to do in the game.

Eighth-placed Gate kept their slim hopes of a second successive Isthmian South East play-off finish alive with an impressive 2-0 home triumph over leaders Three Bridges last weekend.

It was a third straight win for Margate player-boss Greenhalgh and his side, and a second at Hartsdown Park in the league since November. “That’s the thing we’re most proud of, getting this group going back in the right direction. We know we’re probably not going to get into the play-off places.

“We have got some tough games to play, including four teams in the relegation scrap, and to go to AFC Whyteleafe. They’re absolutely flying and have won seven in a row.

“For us, it’s just a case of staying in the right frame of mind for every game.”
