Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has admitted he's ready for a "new challenge", opening the door for a move away from Old Trafford as soon as January - and The Manchester Evening News readers in our comments section are taking the opportunity to sing his praises as they face up to saying goodbye.
Ruben Amorim's decision to leave Rashford out of the squad that would go on to win the Manchester derby last week sparked speculation about the homegrown player's future at the club. In an interview with journalist Henry Winter, Rashford has admitted for the first time that he's ready for a new challenge away from the club by saying: "For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps.
"When I leave it's going to be 'no hard feelings'. You're not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That's me as a person. If I know that a situation is already bad, I'm not going to make it worse.

"I've seen how other players have left in the past and I don't want to be that person. When I leave then I'll make a statement and it will be from me."
Rashford has scored 138 goals in 426 appearances for United's senior team - marking his debut all the way back in 2016 by scoring two in Europe - and following up with another pair against Arsenal. He's represented United in the England squad, and managed a 30-goal season in all competitions in 2022/2023, but recent performances have not been to the fans' liking.
