Marcus Rashford could be given new role as Jesse Lingard breaks silence ahead of Man United exit

Here are your Manchester United evening headlines on Saturday, May 28.

Marcus Rashford's future at Manchester United could hinge on whether the club sign a striker in the summer transfer window.

Rashford, 24, is set to travel on United's pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia in July and is hopeful of impressing new manager Erik ten Hag.

Jesse Lingard is set to leave United this summer after 232 appearances and 35 goals.

The England international enjoyed loan spells out at Leicester, Birmingham and West Ham after breaking through from the club’s academy into the senior squad in 2014. But after a tough few years, he will go through the Carrington doors one last time this summer.

Along with Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic, he sees his contract expire next month. He was denied an Old Trafford farewell against Brentford before being left out of the team in the final day loss to Crystal Palace.
