Marcelo and his son do Ronaldo celebration after goal for Real Madrid academy
Real Madrid superstar Marcelo called time on his career at the Bernabeu at the end of this season after securing yet another Champions League winners’ medal.
His time in that famous white shirt was truly special as he played a massive part in several all-conquering teams.
The Brazilian was a crucial cog in the Zinedine Zidane juggernaut that one three European Cups on the bounce and he also played part in six La Liga title-winning sides.
While he might have been defender, Marcelo’s goalscoring record would be the envy of many a midfielder, racking up 37 strikes over the course of his 544-game career at Madrid.
Couple that with his 107 assists and you begin to understand just how special Marcelo was.
Sadly, all good things must come to an end and it seems the time for the Brazilian to pass on the baton has come.
That baton looks like it will be in very safe hands though with footage today emerging of Marcelo’s son, Enzo, scoring a fantastic header for the Real Madrid academy.
Enzo has begun making waves this season and the latest footage just proves that he could be a serious prospect.
Born in 2009, Enzo towers above the opposition to nod home a thunderous header before peeling away and performing Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic celebration.
Judging from the clip below, it seems his dad, who was watching on proudly, joined him belting out a ‘Siuuu’ following the goal.
