Marcel Sabitzer agrees with Bruno Fernandes over Manchester United’s hectic fixture schedule

Marcel Sabitzer is relishing Manchester United's hectic schedule and using it as an opportunity to settle in quickly to his new club.

Sabitzer joined United late in the January window, penning a half-season loan deal from Bayern Munich after injury to Christian Eriksen forced the club to act swiftly. The Austrian made his debut off the bench in the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at the start of February, kicking off a manic month in which he played five times and won the Carabao Cup.

March has been no different, with midweek action on the horizon for the foreseeable future as United continue to compete in both the FA Cup and Europa League, as well as regular Premier League action. But far from struggling under the constant turnaround, Sabitzer is enjoying the congested schedule as he adapts to life at Old Trafford.

"I think so," he told United Review when asked if the hectic schedule has helped him settle in. "Every footballer loves the games.

"That’s good we have a lot of games. We are fit, we are ready and enjoying the moment. One hundred per cent [I can play three games a week]. I saw the comment Bruno [Fernandes] did and it was the same for me. I want to play every day, if possible, I am ready for every game."

The latest fixture comes as United host Real Betis on Thursday in the first leg of their last-16 tie, offering Ten Hag's side a chance to redeem themselves quickly following Sunday's 7-0 humiliation at the hands of Liverpool. The Reds will go into the tie as favourites, given they beat La Liga leaders Barcelona in the last round, but Sabitzer is under no illusions regarding the size of the task ahead.
