Marc Marquez crash: MotoGP rider flung off bike in worrying incident

Eight-time world champion Marc Marquez suffered a horrific crash in a warm-up session for the Indonesian Grand Prix when approaching the high-speed Turn 7 at the Mandalika International Street Circuit.

Luckily, hospital checks revealed that Marquez had only suffered a ‘head concussion’ from the devastating impact with the gravel. There was a heightened concern for his welfare due to his previous injuries.

Fans from across the world shared a sigh of considerable relief when the 29-year-old eventually got back up on his feet.

His bike, however, came off worse and was subsequently destroyed. His team of mechanics either covered their mouths or put their hands on their head in shock when the rider was hurled into the air.

Marquez has been unfortunate with previous arm and eye injuries and even had to miss half the races held since the beginning of 2020, and so will be devastated he was unable to continue this weekend.

This had been the fourth time over the weekend that Marquez had crashed, but this was by far the worst of the bunch, with BT Sport commentator Gavin Emmett exclaiming how bad the crash was.

Alberto Puig, Respol Honda team manager, has reportedly come out and shared his confusion of why Marquez has had three big crashes and the need to understand the problem, with many blaming the tyres.
