Mapped: The number of DWP £150 disability cost of living payments made where you live

Millions of households across the UK have begun receiving £150 in disability cost of living support from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP).

According to the government department, more than 6.5 million people across the country will benefit from the cash boost. Payments will be made by the DWP across a two-week period, with most eligible claimants receiving the cash by July 4.

Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Mel Stride MP, said: “This payment helps protect those who need our support the most, providing a vital financial boost to six million disabled people. Our multi-billion-pound package of support reinforces our commitment to help UK households with the rising cost of living. It comes on top of record increases to benefits and the national living wage.”

According to data released by the government, 878,000 households in the North West are eligible for the one-off payment, equating to 13 per cent of the overall payments - the highest proportion out of all areas across the UK.

Across Greater Manchester, 287,000 households are eligible for the £150 payment, according to government figures. Out of Greater Manchester's boroughs, Manchester has the highest number of eligible claimants at 59,800, followed by Wigan with 40,300, and Bolton at 33,000.

The Manchester Evening news has created an interactive map to show how many people across the region will benefit from the Disability Cost of Living Payment.
