Maple Leafs reach 1-year deal with forward Nick Robertson before training camp

Robertson produced 14 goals and 13 assists in 56 games last season with the Maple Leafs.

The 22-year-old reportedly requested a trade out of Toronto this summer, leading to a contract holdout.

The Maple Leafs drafted Robertson in the second round, 53rd overall, of the 2019 NHL draft. The Pasadena, Calif., product's entry-level contract expired at the end of last season.

Robertson has 17 goals and 17 assists in 87 career NHL games, splitting time with the AHL's Toronto Marlies the past four seasons.

He'll enter training camp with an opportunity to earn a bigger role under head coach Craig Berube after winger Tyler Bertuzzi left the Maple Leafs to join Chicago during the off-season.

Veteran defenceman Tyson Barrie will attend the Calgary Flames training camp on a professional tryout, the team announced.

Barrie had one goal and 15 points in 41 games with the Nashville Predators last season.

The 33-year-old offensive defenceman from Victoria produced 55 points (13 goals, 42 assists) in 75 games split between the Predators and Edmonton Oilers in 2022-23.

His three-year, $13.5-million US contract expired after last season.

The Flames also announced they've signed blueliner Jarred Tinordi to a one-year, two-way contract worth $800,000.

The 32-year-old Tinordi had nine points and 64 penalty minutes in 52 games with Chicago last season.

The Seattle Kraken and veteran defenseman AdamLarsson reached an agreement Tuesday on a four-year extension thatwill keep one of their top blue liners under contract through the2028-29 season.

Larsson's extension is worth an average of $5.25 million US per season and retains one of Seattle's selections from the 2021 expansion draft for the long term.
