Manuel Benson's perfect message to Burnley fans and the Clarets dressing room reaction to Luton

Manuel Benson feels Burnley will be a force this season having made his debut for the club in the draw with Luton Town.

The winger, who arrived at Turf Moor on Thursday, came off the bench at the break and sparked a revival from the Clarets who trailed 1-0 at the interval but emerged with a point after a much improved second half showing. Benson was integral to that, with boss Vincent Kompany saying he changed the game, and the winger feels like there is more to come from him and the team.

Indeed the 25-year-old, who had a couple of chances to open his account, was frustrated not to have found a debut goal and three points despite an encouraging performance while he heaped praise on the Burnley supporters after his first taste of Turf Moor.

"I have still goose bumps talking about it," he said. "When I came out it was unbelievable and I hadn't even played a minute and they were applauding.

"It gives me more confidence and I wanted to give something back and that is what I am a little bit gutted about the misses but I hope this atmosphere can stay all season and we can do great things. I think I had some chances to score so I am a little bit sad about that but overall we still have a point so we can be happy.

"I am still finding my way, I still need to get to know the guys and them know me and get a better understanding so that is why I say I am really positive about what is going to come. The people around are very gentle to me and explain everything to me really good so everything will be fine."

Josh Brownhill was certainly impressed with the new arrival, who had a role to play in the equaliser. And the midfielder feels Benson, and the other nine new faces, will bring plenty to this Burnley side as time goes on.
