James Wilson speaks: “It’s been a hard 46 [games] then the two playoffs, we’ve worked so hard,” says Port Vale’s man of the match. “I think we deserved that today. We weren’t happy with how we’ve performed going into the last few games of the season but we dusted ourselves down and ended up coming out the victors today. I think we were deserved winners in the end.”
Kian Harrett speaks: On loan from Huddersfield Town, who will be attempting to beat another team from Nottinghamshire in tomorrow’s Championship playoff final, the scorer of Port Vale’s opener has been talking to Sky Sports.
“I’m buzzing for the lads,” he says. “It’s what we deserved. The cross took a deflection so I had to check back but luckily I got there. On another day I could have had a hat-trick but I’ll settle for one today. I just go into each game as it comes. I try my best to score every game.”
