'Manchester will get the best of me' says Cody Rhodes ahead of WWE Co-Op Live show

WWE wrestler Cody Rhodes says he will give Manchester his 'best' ahead of his cage match at the Co-Op Live Arena this week. The Undisputed Champion will face off against Sola Sikoa at the venue on Wednesday night (October 16).

The pair will be going head to head in a cage match as the main event for the show. During an interview with the M.E.N, Rhodes spoke about the 'hope' Greater Manchester fans gave him years ago as he faced off against wrestling legend Kurt Angle at the Planet Ice Rink in Altrincham back in 2016.

Opening up about the experience he said: "I always felt that I owe a little bit to Manchester specifically. When I was away from WWE, not wrestling in the biggest of venues, trying to get as many people into bars and clubs.

"I wrestled Kurt Angle in the Silver Blades arena and they put two thousand people in this little ice arena. It was a good indication that our industry was getting ready to hit this boom, this renaissance.

"Now WWE is doing record business with me in the quarterback spot. I always remember that moment because it offered me an incredible amount of hope, so in terms of Manchester fans, they will get the best of me.

"Those are the debts you can never repay, when you're not sure where your career is going and what it is going to be. Then two thousand people show up right outside the city of Manchester to see you even though you've been away."

The WWE Live show will feature more than 20 WWE Superstars including Cody, Solo Sikoa, Jade Cargill, Randy Orton and more.

The company has come to Manchester around 28 times in the past but it will be the first time an event will be held at the
