Manchester United youngster Amad Diallo posts encouraging fitness update after pre-season injury

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo insists he will be 'back stronger' after recovering from a knee injury picked up in pre-season.

Diallo suffered the issue during United's opening friendly against Arsenal, the first fixture of their pre-season tour of the United States. The 21-year-old was introduced at half-time but lasted just 10 minutes, limping off before leaving the stadium on crutches.

The club then confirmed that Amad would miss the remainder of pre-season and the start of their 2023/2024 campaign with a twisted ankle. An estimated return date was not set, but he is yet to feature against either Wolves or Tottenham.

United are in talks with Sheffield United over a loan deal for Facundo Pellistri, who managed just one start last season. His exit could open up a space in the first-team picture for Amad, with both competing for the same position.
