Manchester United yet to make final decision on David de Gea's future

Manchester United sources say the club have still not made a final decision on the future of David de Gea.

De Gea's contract expires in under 40 hours and club sources indicated two weeks ago the situation to extend De Gea's deal was not as positive as it was at the start of the month.

The 32-year-old ambiguously tweeted a yawning emoji on Wednesday evening as it looks increasingly likely De Gea will leave United after 12 years.

The MEN revealed in May there are doubts over De Gea's No.1 role at United next season and senior figures at the club want to move on from the Spaniard. United have also started exploring options to sign a new first-choice 'keeper.

Inter Milan goalie Andre Onana has been touted for a reunion with his former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag while Brentford are prepared to sell David Raya, valued at around £40million.

Tottenham had lined up a move for Raya but balked at the asking price and signed Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli.

De Gea won the Golden Glove award last season after he kept 17 clean sheets in the Premier League but his campaign was blighted by high-profile errors.

The fallout from United's Europa League quarter-final elimination by Sevilla and FA Cup final defeat to Manchester City was dominated by De Gea's mistakes.

De Gea also committed costly clangers in the 4-0 thrashing by Brentford and 1-0 loss at West Ham.
