Manchester United wonderkid reveals Paul Pogba and Jadon Sancho inspiration

Manchester United wonderkid Isak Hansen-Aaroen is hoping to follow in the footsteps of his idols by ending the club’s long wait for an FA Youth Cup title.

The Norwegian teenager has been part of the club’s hugely impressive Under-18s side this season, which last week reached the final of the cup for the first time since 2011. Hansen-Aaroen starred in the team that beat Wolves 3-0 at Old Trafford last week, as Travis Binnion’s side booked their place in the showpiece event.

It represents a dream come true for Hansen-Aaroen. The 17-year-old signed for United at the age of 14 before officially making the move over to England a couple of years later.

And the youngster has revealed why he chose to make the move to Old Trafford in an interview with Dagbladet. He had also been on trial with Liverpool and Everton, but his upbringing meant there was only other going to be one option for him.

“It was how they received me. When they showed the plans for the future, it felt very right,” Hansen-Aaroen said.

“United was my team from before. I did not have much choice there, since my dad is a United supporter. Then it became natural for me to follow him. This makes it extra special when you play for a club you have followed for a long time.

“[Ole Gunnar] Solskjaer was the coach when I wrote the pre-contract. So every time we went to England he was out to dinner with me, dad and mum. So I've met him quite a few times, yes. He's a very nice guy.”
