After the euphoria of Thursday night's victory over Lyon it's back to Premier League action for Manchester United today as they host Wolves.

United look destined to finish in the bottom half of the Premier League table but with youngsters set to be handed a chance as Ruben Amorim prioritises the Europa League, United's remaining league games just got a little more interesting.

Amorim made five changes for United's previous league outing against Newcastle and there may well be even more changes made to the starting XI today.

United's European adventure has offered some respite in what has been a bitterly disappointing season. They're winless in their previous three league outings and will today come up against a resurgent Wolves side who have won their last four games to move away from the relegation zone.

Alan Shearer feels Wolves could win at Old Trafford, despite United's win on Thursday.

"Tough one to call after Man United went to extra time in the Europa League. Wolves are flying and playing great football," he told Betfair.

"I'll go for an away win. I'm really not impressed with Man United at all this season so it wouldn't surprise me if Wolves went to Old Trafford and won."

United's only two wins in their past nine league matches both came against clubs in the bottom three.

They have won just one of their last five Premier League games at Old Trafford (D2, L2).

United are guaranteed to record their lowest ever Premier League points total – they got 58 points in 2021-22 but can get a maximum of 56 this season.
