Manchester United vs West Ham predictions speak volumes about Erik ten Hag's season so far

Three pundits are tipping different results when Manchester United get down to business against West Ham on Saturday lunchtime at the London Stadium (12.30pm).

Despite ongoing injury woes, United picked up a decent point in their last Premier League match - against fierce rivals Liverpool at Anfield - and Erik ten Hag will be hoping that can prove to be a catalyst to spark an upturn this season. However, the Dutchman will be without seven players.

Sweden captain Victor Lindelof has undergone surgery on an unspecified problem, while Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro are among the other names who will not return for the Christmas schedule. Here, we look at what Paul Merson and co think will happen on Saturday afternoon.

Wow, this one is a game and a half, isn't it? You don't know what you're going to get with these two teams. I think Manchester United performed excellently away at Anfield last weekend. If Arsenal went over to the Etihad Stadium and put in a display like that, we'd be singing praises all day.

The Hammers will score goals and I think Manchester United will cause problems as well. Both these teams can be really poor or really good on their day. Tough to predict and I'm going to go with a draw.

United parked the bus at Anfield, so will they do that here too? I don't think so. I actually think West Ham will beat them, though. I often go for them to draw games, but I liked the way they went at Wolves.
