Manchester United vs Rayo Vallecano LIVE team news and predicted line ups as Cristiano Ronaldo returns

Manchester United will take part in their final pre-season friendly on Sunday as they take on Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford. It looks set to be a largely second-string United side after a first-team squad fell to a 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in Oslo on Saturday but Cristiano Ronaldo is set to return to action.

The striker has been absent from all Erik ten Hag's first games in charge amid his desire to leave the club in the summer transfer window but he returned to training this week and announced in an Instagram comment he would be playing against the La Liga side.

New signings Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez could both start but Ten Hag has confirmed David de Gea, Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Tyrell Malacia, Fred, Scott McTominay, Anthony Elanga, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford won't be involved after they started against Atletico.

The game is United's final friendly ahead of the start of their Premier League campaign against Brighton next weekend.
