Manchester United U23s are back in action this evening as they take on Chelsea in the Premier League 2.

The young Reds will be hopeful of returning back to winning ways on Friday after suffering defeat last time out to Leicester City. Neil Wood's side will be hopeful of a better start at Old Trafford after finding themselves 3-0 down inside 39 minutes in the east midlands.

An own goal and a strike from D'Mani Mellor got United back in that game at the Foxes' training ground but they ended up succumbing to a 3-2 defeat. After a mixed run of form, which has seen them win two of their last five matches, United currently sit fourth in the Premier League 2 table.

Visitors Chelsea are suffering down the wrong end of the table and find themselves 13th. They are unbeaten in their last three matches though and will be hoping to keep up that form on Friday.

After a successful international break with Argentina, where he trained alongside Lionel Messi, Garnacho was spotted training with the first team at Manchester United this week.

The 17-year-old has played a key role in securing a place in the FA Youth Cup final for the U18 side, scoring five goals in as many appearances including a brace in the sixth round against Leicester before his goal in the semi-final against Wolves.

His role in tonight's match could determine if he plays a part at Goodison Park tomorrow.
