Manchester United vs Brighton LIVE: Premier League latest score and updates as Jadon Sancho misses chance

LIVE – Updated at 20:43

Follow live coverage as Manchester United host Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League tonight.

Ralf Rangnick’s side are in desperate need of three points as they bid to stay in the race for Champions League football. United have led 1-0 at half-time in their past three fixtures only to be pegged back after the interval, something Rangnick has looked to address with the help of club psychologist Sascha Lense. The second-half setbacks have seen the Red Devils knocked out of the FA Cup on penalties by Middlesbrough and drop Premier League points with 1-1 draws against Burnley and Southampton.

Rangnick’s opposite number Graham Potter has gained plenty of plaudits for Brighton’s style of play and slick performances and has his in-form side flying high in ninth place ahead of Tuesday’s milestone match, his 100th top-flight game in charge of the Seagulls. Follow all the latest updates and analysis here:

26 mins: Nearly. Dalot flicks a clearance down the right wing where the ball is expertly brought down by Bruno Fernandes. He rolls it onto his left foot and fires a cross-field pass over the Ronaldo on the inside left. The pass doesn’t have the legs to reach the United forward and Webster gets in front of him to head it clear.

23 mins: Jadon Sancho and Fred combine to work the ball down the inside left channel and into the box. Fred takes it to the byline and backheels it back into the area trying to set up Sancho. Adam Webster is there to intercept and work the ball clear.

United recover the ball and give it to Ronaldo. He drives towards the box and slips in Elanga. He chases it to the byline but can’t reach it under pressure from Dunk and Sanchez watches the ball roll behind for a goal kick.
