Manchester United urged to make perfect Sir Alex Ferguson signing in Declan Rice

Manchester United have been told they could have the perfect Sir Alex Ferguson signing if they can stump up the money to take Declan Rice.

The England international has been in sparkling form over the past 18 months for West Ham, and has kicked on following an impressive summer with England at Euro 2020 to become one of this season’s standout players.

Rice’s form has led to him being linked with a move away from the Hammers, with United, Chelsea and Manchester City all touted as possible destinations.

United have already identified the 23-year-old as a priority as they look to strengthen their midfield options this summer, although they would have to part with a hefty fee in order to secure his services.

West Ham are not keen on selling, and would be looking for at least £100million in order to part ways with Rice.

Given United’s need for a new midfielder though, Rice certainly fits the bill, and former Arsenal and Everton striker believes he would have already made the move to Old Trafford under Ferguson.

“This season he (Rice) has been nothing short of incredible,” Campbell told Football Insider.

“He has been absolutely incredible. In a time where lots of England players have struggled after the Euros, he has been outstanding. He is just getting better and better.
