Manchester United U21s vs Hertha Berlin live Premier League International Cup updates and team news

Manchester United's Under-21s will play Hertha Berlin at Moor Lane tonight.

United will take on Hertha Berlin in their first group game of the Premier League International Cup at Moor Lane because Leigh Sports Village is unavailable to host the contest.

Moor Lane, otherwise known as the Peninsula Stadium, is home to Class of '92-owned Salford City and the U21s last played there in October against the League Two side.

The U21s usually play their home games at Leigh Sports Village but that is a shared facility with the women's team, so the women's fixtures can clash with academy games.

Travis Binnion's side beat Norwich 5-3 in their last match and exciting young striker Ethan Wheatley scored a hat-trick, despite being introduced to the game at half-time as a substitute.

After facing Hertha Berlin, United will play Nordsjaelland, PSV Eindhoven and Sparta Prague, and they will look to progress to the knockout stages of the European academy competition.

I might sound like Michael Owen here, but the first goal feels very important in this game.

Both sides have created chanced and you get the impression the team who scores first will seize control and follow it with another.

Gore was played a hospital pass from Graczyk but remained composed under the Hertha press.

The away side are knocking it around nicely after a good start from United and seem the more likely to score. They've just had a shot that flashed past the post and are pushing for a goal.

Hertha Hertha break forward, winning possession from Missin after a poor goalkick, but Jackson is there to clear the danger at the back with an important block.

There have been chances for both sides in the opening 15 minutes.
