Manchester United transfer news LIVE Man Utd vs Everton reaction and Cristiano Ronaldo latest

Manchester United will be ecstatic this morning after they defeated Everton last night to return to winning ways in the Premier League.

It was the worst possible start for United though as Alex Iwobi opened the goalscoring with a thunderous effort in just the fifth minute of the game. But United hit back 10 minutes later as Antony placed a shot beyond Jordan Pickford.

That goal meant Antony broke Zlatan Ibrahimovic's record and became the first United player to score in his opening three Premier League games for the club. Anthony Martial was substituted for the Reds just before the half hour mark but his replacement ensured the three points for Erik ten Hag.

Ronaldo fired home from the left hand side of the box just before the interval to send the game out of sight for Everton. Although it was his first of the campaign in the Premier League, it was the Portuguese ace's 700th in club football.

With Martial seemingly set for a spell on the sidelines, Ronaldo looks destined to start on Thursday night in the Europa League.

Today's big talking point: Was Rashford's goal correctly ruled out? Have your say here.

David de Gea

Had no chance with Alex Iwobi's sweet strike. Came out of his area to clear and handled the ball carefully. Important save late on from James Garner. 7

Diogo Dalot

His sloppiness inadvertently led to the attack United equalised from. Coped well with Demarai Gray. 7

Victor Lindelof

Not stringently tested by Neal Maupay and had one of his easier encounters at Everton. Steadier next to Lisandro Martinez than in midweek. 7
