Manchester United told three key players who can end Man City treble bid in FA Cup final

Manchester United will be bidding to complete a domestic cup double and end Manchester City's Treble hopes this weekend.

The Reds won the Carabao Cup against Newcastle United in February and, having secured a top-four finish in the Premier League and therefore Champions League football for next season, are on the hunt for more silverware in the FA Cup final. Erik ten Hag's side will be underdogs at Wembley against the top-flight champions and Champions League finalists.

But United beat Pep Guardiola's side in the league in January and head into the contest on the back of four straight wins. And former Old Trafford defender Mikael Silvestre feels the Reds can emerge victorious if they win the midfield battle and get a tune out of three of their key players.

“It’s very important for Man United to take control of the midfield even though it will be extremely tough," Silvestre said, speaking to Betting Expert. "They have to limit the impact of Man City’s midfield.

“Both Casemiro and [Christian] Eriksen will be really important for Man United. The battle against Rodri and [Kevin] De Bruyne is massive as they have almost been controlling every single game. Hopefully Man United will be fresh enough and Bruno Fernandes will be important as the leader and the maestro in the midfield.

“Man United has to keep their shape and accept that they won’t have the ball all the time. The key for Man United will be to keep a clean sheet for as long as possible. They did beat Man City at Old Trafford and Man United can take their belief from being able to actually beat them.
