Manchester United told Cristiano Ronaldo not solely to 'blame' for Middlesbrough shambles

Manchester United have been slammed as a 'shambles' after suffering defeat to Championship side Middlesbrough in the FA Cup on Friday night.

Cristiano Ronaldo had missed a penalty before Jadon Sancho gave the hosts the lead at Old Trafford.

Matt Crooks scored a controversial equaliser for Boro after the ball appeared to strike the hand of Duncan Watmore in the build-up.

Bruno Fernandes hit the post for United but they had to settle for penalties which they eventually won after Anthony Elanga blazed the ball over the bar.

Ex-Premier League midfielder Jamie O'Hara has criticised the club's current state on talkSPORT.

The former Tottenham Hotspur player said: "I thought it was shocking. I mean it was a terrible result for them.
