Manchester United the 'only potential home' for 298 G/A star in summer

Manchester United is looking like the ‘only potential home’ for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane should he depart the club, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Kane has just over two years remaining on his current contract with Spurs but has been linked with a move away from his boyhood club in recent weeks once again.

Last summer, the 28-year-old attempted to force his way out of north London amid intense interest from reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.

City manager Pep Guardiola later revealed that Spurs rejected up to four bids for Kane as they refused to meet his reported £150 million price tag.

Instead, the Etihad Stadium outfit focussed their attention of snapping up Jack Grealish in a British-record deal and are now believed to be leading the race for Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland.

And according to The Athletic, United are now primed to try and prise Kane to the red half of Manchester during the summer.

The report states that super-agent Jorge Mendes has been approaching centre-forwards around Europe over the possibility of replacing Kane at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Darwin Nunez and Tammy Abraham at the top of his list.

It’s claimed that United want Kane ‘regardless of who is charge next season’ but the arrival of former Spurs tactician Mauricio Pochettino could increase their chances of pulling off this deal.

With City in for Haaland, Chelsea experiencing major off-field issues, Arsenal out of the question and Liverpool a very unlikely fit for financial and footballing reasons, United appear to be the only logical destination for Kane.
