Manchester United team news as Erik ten Hag explains Mason Mount minutes

Manchester United return to action in the Premier League tomorrow afternoon when they host Luton Town at Old Trafford.

The Reds head into the fixture on a downward trajectory following their 4-3 loss to FC Copenhagen in midweek. United performed well for the majority of the game but two moments of switching off cost them a valuable three points.

But, Erik ten Hag will be hoping his players can put that defeat to the back of their minds on Saturday when they host the relegation-threatened Hatters. A win prior to the international break will do wonders for the mood around the club and ahead of the fixture, MEN Sport has rounded up the headlines.

Jonny Evans is out for United in their Premier League home fixture against Luton Town on Saturday.

Evans came off after 15 minutes in the 4-3 Champions League defeat to Copenhagen on Wednesday night and United are yet to conclude their assessment of his injury. The 35-year-old has started five of the last seven games and he was replaced by Raphael Varane in Denmark.

Ten Hag insists his expectations for Mason Mount have not altered, despite the midfielder's dismal start at Manchester United.

£60million summer signing Mount has started only one of the last six United games and he is yet to tally a goal or an assist in his seven appearances for the club. Mount, 24, has been omitted from the last two England squads by manager Gareth Southgate and he is not assured of a recall for United in their Premier League fixture against Luton on Saturday.
