Manchester United target Erik ten Hag 'favourite' and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are eager to target Nabil Fekir during the summer window - according to reports.

Fekir, 29, has long-since been linked with a high-profile switch to the Premier League and Arsenal are thought to have come close to securing his signature in the past. He moved to Real Betis in 2019 after making his name during six years with French side Olympique Lyonnais.

Reports from Spanish publication Fichajes indicate United have added him to their shortlist for next season as they continue their impressive rebuild. Since appointing Ten Hag last summer, the club have already brought in three midfielders with the additions of Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Marcel Sabitzer (loan).

According to the report, United manager Erik ten Hag is thought to rate the France midfielder highly. Fekir has played 25 games for his national team, as well as spending his entire career in Europe.

Fekir has two-and-a-half years to run on his contract and a would-be transfer fee of around €30million has been mooted. It is predicted he would provide cover for Bruno Fernandes.

Elsewhere, reports from Calciomercato claim United have been dealt a blow in their proposed attempt to sign Marcus Thuram when his contract expires. Thuram, 25, is gearing up for a new adventure after his current team - Borussia Monchengladbach - confirmed that he will leave for nothing when his agreement ends.

United want a long-term successor to Cristiano Ronaldo in place for next season. Harry Kane and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen are being monitored in that regard, but would each cost £100million-plus.
