Manchester United star Harry Maguire shares first picture from dream wedding to Fern Hawkins

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has described his wedding to Fern Hawkins at the Chateau de Varennes in France as a day he’ll never forget, in a heart-warming Instagram post.

The 29-year-old tied the knot with his long-term partner of 11 years on Saturday in the presence of family and friends. The couple announced their engagement in 2018 during a romantic trip to Paris.

The Maguires have since had two children; Lillie Saint, who was born in April 2019, and Piper Rose, who was born in May 2020. Fern has often been snapped cheering on her now-husband during England matches.

She has been a rock of strength for Harry during their relationship, including in the last 12 months. Fern saw him lose in the Euro 2020 final with England last summer before the defender felt the pressure amid a torrid season with United.

It culminated in the family being sent an abhorrent bomb threat in April, with police fortunately finding no evidence of an explosive device in their home. Now the newly-weds are able to put that behind them and are looking ahead to happier days.

The United skipper shared a photo of him kissing his wife after exchanging vows, on Instagram. He wrote: “25.06.22 A day I’ll never forget.”

The Maguires were flooded with messages of congratulations from United fans from across the globe.
