Manchester United squad vs Chelsea confirmed as four youngsters included

Ruud van Nistelrooy looks set to include youngsters Harry Amass, Jayce Fitzgerald, Jack Fletcher and Ethan Wheatley in Manchester United's matchday squad for the visit of Chelsea this afternoon.

The quartet have been pictured arriving at Old Trafford ahead of the clash with the Londoners and are set to be named on the bench for the second game running.

Midfielder Fitzgerald, 17, was named among the substitutes for the very first time in midweek as United saw off Leicester City in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup at Old Trafford, setting up a quarter-final clash with Tottenham Hotspur next month.

Fitzgerald, who started the Under-18s' 6-0 win over Nottingham Forest four days earlier, was a likely candidate to be included in today's matchday squad after being left out of the Under-18s' matchday squad for their 8-0 win over Leeds United at Thorp Arch yesterday.

Meanwhile, Amass and Fletcher both featured for the Under-21s yesterday, starting their 5-2 defeat to Sunderland. Both players were substituted at half-time.

Fletcher, who is still yet to make his first-team debut for United, scored and provided an assist prior to being withdrawn at half-time. The Reds trailed 3-2 at the interval.

Elsewhere, Wheatley, who came off the bench at half-time in the aforementioned clash with Sunderland, will be hoping to make his first Premier League appearance of the season at some stage this afternoon after earning a late cameo appearance against Leicester in midweek. He replaced Joshua Zirkzee with just five minutes left on the clock.
