Manchester United set for midfield boost as three Premier League fixtures changed

Manchester United have had rare midweek off as they prepare to face West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday.

Erik ten Hag's side fought hard to secure a point at Anfield on Sunday, drawing 0-0 against Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool. It was just the second point the Reds have earned on the road against top-nine opposition since the Dutchman took charge.

After suffering a long list of injuries since the start of the season, United were boosted by the return of Christian Eriksen to training this week. The Dane has been out for just over a month with a knee injury. The club have also issue a statement regarding new European Super League proposals.

Midfield boost

Christian Eriksen is in line for a return to the Manchester United squad for the first time in six weeks against West Ham on Saturday.

Eriksen returned to team training this week after sustaining a knee injury in the 1-0 win against Luton Town on November 11.

United have been so depleted in midfield that veteran Tom Huddlestone, the Under-23 player-coach, was drafted into first-team training on Monday.

The United players who started against Liverpool in the goalless draw on Sunday had a recovery session, so Sofyan Amrabat, Kobbie Mainoo and Scott McTominay were absent from the session.

Fixture changes

Manchester United have had three games scheduled for February moved by the Premier League for TV.

Erik ten Hag and his squad are due to take on Wolves, West Ham, Aston Villa, Luton Town and Fulham that month as they continue their top-flight charge.
