Manchester United 'sending scouts to watch Evan Ferguson' and other transfer rumours

Manchester United are reportedly set to send scouts to watch Brighton and Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson in action for the Republic of Ireland on Monday.

The 18-year-old had stood out for the Seagulls in the Premier League 2 campaign which led to boss Roberto De Zerbi calling him up for the first team post-World Cup. Since then, the teenager has scored three goals in 10 Premier League appearances.

During the international break, Ferguson has continued to impress. On Wednesday, He scored his first goal for Ireland as Stephen Kenny's side beat Latvia 3-2.

According to The Sun, this form has caught United's interest as they look for a centre forward in the summer. However, the tabloid claims that Ferguson is in no hurry to leave the south coast and is willing to continue his development with Brighton for the time being.

Elsewhere, Sport claims that the Reds are already negotiating with Wolves ahead of a move for Ruben Neves in the summer. The 26-year-old defensive midfielder's contract at Molineux expires in 2024 and the West Midlands club are not wanting the Portuguese international to leave on a free.

The report adds that United have been given a boost in their bid to seal Neves' signature as Barcelona have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign him. It is understood that the Catalan club has got cold feet because their fans are unsure he would be a suitable signing for La Liga.

It is also believed that Xavi is undecided as to whether Neves is as good as Sergio Busquets despite the Barca legend coming to the end of his career.
