Brighton to be 'blown out of the water' by Manchester United's Alexis Mac Allister interest and more transfer rumours

Brighton face a massive task in keeping hold of Alexis Mac Allister this summer amid interest from Manchester United and other top Premier League clubs, according to reports.

Mac Allister has enjoyed a fairytale season with both club and country, helping Brighton fight for European football while winning the World Cup with Argentina in December. The midfielder started all but one game in Qatar and was crucial in his nation's success.

Such form continued into club football with the Seagulls, his eight goals and one assist helping Roberto De Zerbi's side into seventh place while playing some of the best football in the league. United have been linked with the 24-year-old in the past, but will face competition from Liverpool and Chelsea come summer.

But Football Insider reports that while Brighton are keen on keeping their star, they face a huge task in keeping pace with offers from the league's elite. Mac Allister is thought to be on around £50,000-per-week currently, with personal offers from the likes of United set to dwarf that figure.

The report adds that Mac Allister is ready to make the next step in his career and could look to leave the AMEX this summer. But with two years still left on his contract, any approach will have to satisfy Brighton's demands.

Elsewhere, the Sun reports that Wolves are working on a long-term deal for United-linked Ruben Neves.
