Manchester United sale deadline LIVE: Qatar takeover bid expected as Jim Ratcliffe in mix

Manchester United are up for sale and today is the deadline for any investors interested in purchasing the club from the Glazers to submit their bids.

A deadline of 10pm UK time on Friday has been set by the Raine Group who are organsing the potential sale on behalf of the current owners.

The Glazers are holding out for at least £5bn to sell the club with investors linked to the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani expected to make a bid of more than £4bn for the club.

Another interested party is United fan and billionaire Jim Ratcliffe who has declared his interest in buying the club.

Other names reportedly in the mix include one of the world's richest men Elon Musk while there is thought to be interested in the United States with at least one bid expected.
