Manchester United's ‘stance’ on Christian Pulisic transfer swoop and more rumours

Manchester United have reportedly decided not to act on an approach from the representatives of Christian Pulisic.

The USMNT international is one of a number of Chelsea players who have just a year left on their deal. Claims made in the Metro say that the attacker had been offered to United but the club have instead moved on to other targets.

Pulisic was also said to have been offered to Newcastle, who took the same decision as United. Pulisic mainly plays as a winger, an area United are not looking to improve this summer.

They are more interested in midfielder and Chelsea colleague Mason Mount, although have had three offers rejected. As a result, Erik ten Hag is looking at other options albeit the latest £55m bid remains on the table.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reports that United would be looking for £40m to consider offloading Scott McTominay. The midfielder is thought to be of interest to Newcastle, although such a fee could put them off a pursuit.

United could listen to offers for as many as 13 players this summer. The club is looking to agree exits to fund new arrivals as they try to navigate Financial Fair Play after last year’s £225m spend.

It says Ten Hag has been handed a reduced budget of £120m amid the lack of claret regarding the takeover race. The Mail moots that the condensed budget is why United are reluctant to meet Chelsea’s £65m asking price for Mount.

The likes of Donny van de Beek, Fred, Harry Maguire and Anthony Martial could be shown the door this summer following Zidane Iqbal’s €1m move to FC Utrecht.
