Manchester United's next transfer decision could hamper Erik ten Hag favourite
Manchester United simply have to get their next transfer decision right or they risk undermining the process that Erik ten Hag and key figures behind the scenes have worked tirelessly to install.
It has been a topsy-turvy start to the season on and off the pitch. United have picked up six points from a possible nine - without really hitting their straps - while injury problems continue to mount.
Still no takeover, either. In the midst of those trials and tribulations, though, the work done by Ten Hag within the market has, generally speaking, improved his United squad.
Despite a few question marks, Andre Onana fits into the Ten Hag masterplan more than David De Gea ever could, while Mason Mount - one of those on the treatment table - must be given ample time to justify his £60million tag. Fans are still waiting, patiently, to see Denmark sensation Rasmus Hojlund make his debut.
Should the £72million man hit the ground running, it will help claw back further momentum for United after what was a pulsating comeback win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon. But the 24 hours before - and after - that Premier League meeting leaves Ten Hag with concerns to address.

United are expected to conduct more business - prompted by form and circumstance - with departures certain to govern how much additional funds Ten Hag will have to play with this summer. He has already spent £180million on Onana, Mount and Hojlund with only one of those players currently available.
