Manchester United's defeat to West Ham saw them drop to eighth in the Premier League table.

Erik ten Hag's side will hope to bounce back at Old Trafford next week but face a daunting test against high-flying Aston Villa on Boxing Day. With the fixtures coming thick and fast over the festive period, there is then only one league game in January before the second half of the season gets going in February. United's next tranche of matches are bookended by games with high-flying Aston Villa. The Reds have struggled against leading sides under Ten Hag and with West Ham and Tottenham also coming to Old Trafford, United will need to correct that issue. Trips to Wolves and Forest won't be easy, but if United are to push for a top-four spot, they're games that must be won.
