Manchester United's newest signings must prove doubt about Erik ten Hag wrong
Mason Mount hoped for a better start to life at Manchester United after his move from Chelsea. The midfielder was the first new face through the Carrington doors this summer and he started in the opening two Premier League games.
Mount was brought to the club to succeed Christian Eriksen in a deeper midfield role and he looked sharp in pre-season, but it seemed he was still familiarising himself with the position against Wolves and Tottenham.
The midfield lacked balance against Wolves and Mount wasn't at his best, although he wasn't the only player guilty of that. He improved in the first half against Tottenham but eventually sustained a hamstring injury in that 2-0 defeat.

Mount should return around the end of September and he'll be motivated to make a strong contribution when he does. He possesses all the qualities to succeed as No.8 and he'll be given time to adapt to the role this season.
The 24-year-old has the potential to be an excellent signing, but he needs to be effective in games sooner rather than later.
Andre Onana already feels like United's best signing of the summer. The goalkeeper was fortunate not to concede a penalty against Wolves on his debut, but he made a string of key saves and his ball-playing ability is obvious.
Onana is elite with the ball at his feet and although critics had their doubts, he's proved he's a capable shot-stopper, which is crucial because his main responsibility is to prevent the opposition from scoring.
The 'keeper was signed for £43.8m (plus £3.4m in add-ons) and that represents shrewd business. Dean Henderson is set to raise £20m when his move to Crystal Palace is made official and that means almost half of the Onana
