Manchester United's best player in 2024/25 season is not who everyone predicted
"Andre Onana! Andre Onana! Andre Onana!" came from the Manchester United away end in the first half against Ipswich Town and it was the first time the chant had been audible.
United fans often cursed Onana's name when they left games during his first few months in Manchester but they are now singing it. The goalkeeper has enjoyed an impressive turnaround in fortunes and has demonstrated grit, determination and quality to get where he currently is.
Onana made five saves against Ipswich, with three of those coming inside the box, and the save to deny Liam Delap in the first half was the pick of the bunch. Onana did remarkably well to make himself big and close the angle, which saw Delap's point-blank-range shot hit his bicep.
It was after that save that Onana's name was sung. The 28-year-old has come a long way since struggling when he first signed from Inter Milan and deserved the fans' recognition.

The turning point for Onana came during last winter. He ended last season strongly and hasn't looked back, continuing to improve in this season to become the team's best player on form.
Onana won the Premier League's save of the month award for his outstanding double stop against Crystal Palace in September and somehow bettered it against Fenerbahce in October.
The Cameroon international denied Youssef En-Nesyri twice in a matter of seconds as Fenerbahce threatened an equaliser in the Europa League. He got down to his left before springing back to his feet to make another save and Jose Mourinho described the saves as "incredible".
Onana has been lavished with superlatives and nobody would have predicted
