Manchester United 'plot transfer' for Premier League star to replace Antony

Manchester United have reportedly been keeping tabs on Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto as a potential replacement for Antony.

Neto has been in good form for Wolves this season, despite missing games with persistent injury issues, he has scored two goals and provided nine assists in 19 league games. Antony, on the other hand, has failed to impress since completing the £85million move to United two years ago.

The Brazilian winger, has only started 11 games for United this season, having come on as a substitute in their last six league games. He is yet to score or provide a single assist in the Premier League.

He could be one of the players to leave this summer with United expected to entertain offers for the winger, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team continuing to plan for major changes at Old Trafford. According to the Mirror, Neto has emerged as a potential target for the United hierarchy.

Ratcliffe recently stressed the importance of sales, saying: "FFP (financial fair play) has become a new aspect of running the football club and it's clearly a really critical part of running a football club.

"And you have to think about how you can manage FFP to the benefit of the club. There are different ways in which you can do that but ultimately, FFP says you have to operate the club within its own means.

"And, effectively, it takes into account your prior expenditure, and the club's spent quite heavily in the last couple of seasons. So that does impact FFP going forward because they've used quite a large part of
