Manchester United player ratings vs Lyon with four 8/10s but Andre Onana very poor

Manchester United drew 2-2 with Lyon in the first leg of their Europa League quarter final on Thursday night.

After his war of words with Nemanja Matic, Andre Onana committed a big error in the 26^th minute as he failed to anticipate Thiago Almada’s cross evading everyone in the box and the ball bounced high into the net.

Leny Yoro brought United back level on the stroke of half time as he turned Manuel Ugarte’s effort home with an instinctive header.

Joshua Zirkzee came on in the second half and looked to have scored the winner but Rayan Cherki equalised in added time after another Onana mistake.

Andre Onana

Had to be faultless yet he was at fault for Thiago Almada's goal from a free kick. Cocked up again for the equaliser in added time that denied United victory. 2

Noussair Mazraoui

Defended well and covered a number of times for Diogo Dalot. Showed again he is much more effective on the right of a back three. 8

Harry Maguire

A sloppy moment when he miscontrolled the ball shortly after Lyon went ahead. Not his most secure of evenings. 5

Leny Yoro

A striker's finish from the defender to get his first goal for United and the equaliser. Shot wide in the second half, too. May get wider recognition now after a quietly good week last week. 8

Diogo Dalot

Collaborated productively with Alejandro Garnacho to tee up Bruno Fernandes for a good chance at 0-0. Booked for a nasty foul. 6

Manuel Ugarte

His final-third passing was appalling at times but he fortuitously claimed an assist for Yoro's goal. Booked for a deliberate and cynical shove. 5

Casemiro

Another respectable performance amid the tranquil pace of a game. Hit the target with an overhead kick.
