Manchester United 'offered' Real Madrid's Marco Asensio and more transfer rumours

Manchester United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Marcos Asensio from Real Madrid this transfer window.

According to The Telegraph, Asensio is looking to leave Madrid this summer and is believed to be available for €30million (£25.3million). The report claims that United were offered the player before they signed Casemiro from the La Liga side, although the club have not ruled out making a bid for another player from the Spanish side.

It is thought that Madrid are eager to find the attacking midfielder a new club this summer, as the player is in the final year of his contract. Asensio's club are believed to be desperate to avoid the player leaving on a free next summer, as they work with super-agent Jorge Mendes, the player's representative, to find the Spaniard a new side.

Elsewhere, Mail Online report that Anthony Elanga could be sent out on loan if United finalise a deal for Antony from Ajax this summer.

They claim that Everton are keen on taking the youngster on loan this season and the incoming deal for the Brazilian winger could see Elanga leave to get more minutes. It is thought that the Merseyside club are also interested in signing James Garner this summer after Erik ten Hag made the decision to allow the player to leave.

The Toffees could be set to benefit from United's potential signing of Antony, but the price tag for the player is still believed to be a stumbling block. It has been reported that Ajax would be willing to find a compromise with the Reds, yet it would likely still cost United in excess of €90million (£76million) to bring the player in before the September 1 deadline.
