Manchester United need to give Hannibal Mejbri what he deserves

Whoever becomes the next permanent manager of Manchester United will have the immediate task of reshaping an attack that could lose a number of key figures before they even take charge. Edinson Cavani, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Paul Pogba are all out of contract and could leave for nothing this summer, while Cristiano Ronaldo could also head for the exit door if the side fail to qualify for the Champions League.

United were already in need of an overhaul with those figures at the club, but instead they will face the difficult task of rebuilding the squad (and management team) while also having to look for replacements for some of their most talented individuals. Even in the world of video games, such a rebuild would be a tricky task in such a short space of time, but thankfully, the next permanent manager will at least be blessed with the option of promoting promising youngsters to senior roles.

Anthony Elanga is the latest starlet to make a serious impact on the senior side under Ralf Rangnick, and next up on the production line will surely be Hannibal Mejbri — arguably the most famous of United's current young crop. His notoriety is in part due to the fact that United pledged an initial €5million to sign him as a 16-year-old as part of an overall fee that could rise to €10m. It is also down to the fact that he is good, very good indeed.
